Leona's Sister #Rock #Toronto @follow @leonassister #IMGlobalPromo #MySpace #HeavyRock #70s #MOAcommunity

from ReverbNation:- Leona's Sister is a special blend of musical styles and influences, led by the powerful and unique vocals of JT
from IMGlobal:- Have a listen and get to know us. We're new here so some things might still be incomplete. Well, we've had a couple of great gigs this year and a few new opportunities coming up.

We started the year with a gig at Toronto's Legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
Awesome venue and a great night.
See us on YouTube

The Road To CMW
Then we played another historic Toronto icon, The El Mocambo. Unfortunately, this venue isn't what it used to be, but it was still a great night for us.
This was actually a qualifier to Canadian Music Week, and as of now, we're still waiting for the results.
If we win, we could be playing at the Hard Rock Cafe in Toronto during Canadian Music Week. That would be awesome. Our profile is here, http://edge.supernova.com/Leonas-Sister

We're also in an online competition to have a single released by EMI Canada.
You can check out our profile here,   We're in the finals and maintaining the top 10.
from MOA:- History
Leona's Sister was created in 1998 by JT. The initial idea was to record a few of her original tunes and record them under the name Leona's Sister. JT hooked up with Jon, Doug, Jeff and Sheilgh and went into Studio 92 where she recorded the first CD, Almost Alive. In 1999 the band, Leona's Sister, was formed consisting of JT and Barry, along with Paul B. and Mike A. Another visit to Studio 92 and the second CD was born, Out Of The Basement.

Due to a falling ice incident, JT had to take a bit of a break from playing but she continued to write new material. In 2010, JT and Barry decided to get a new band together and enlisted the help of a few friends to join us on the mission.

Leona`s Sister is,
Joyce (JT) Twohig - Vocals, Guitar
Len (Blud) O'Sullivan - Lead Guitar
Mike Buisman - Rythm Guitar, Vocals
Barry (Bazman) Twohig - Bass, Vocals
Barb Piatkowski - Drums
We also have a few other roles,
JT - Writer
Blud - Writer
Barb - Keeper of the Band Charts and Band Fund
Mike - Keeper of the Media Archives
Baz - Social Media Geek

Healthy Junkies #follow @HealthyJunkies #Rock #punk #garage #rock #london #UK #IMGlobalPromo #ReverbNation #MySpace

from ReverbNation:- How Healthy Junkies formed:

Parisian Lead singer Nina Courson met British guitarist Phil Honey-Jones in 2009 in the venue Punk in Soho, both of them were in separate bands at the time. They wrote their first song as a birthday present for a mutual friend and it felt good, in fact it felt extremely good. The song is entitled Glam Sister and is on the album and one of the most popular songs in the live set. From then on more songs came thick and fast, the shared influences of the likes of Iggy Pop, Nirvana, Blondie, Killing Joke and Sonic Youth have played a big part in the direction of the group, inspiration has come from far and wide and lyrically the lines between autobiographical and fiction are blurred and merged. I suppose if there was a specific aim it would be to capture and bottle the essence of certain music from the past and release it kicking and screaming into the now.

Phil and Nina were soon joined by Steve Nightmare on drums and Tjay Tarantino(Blood Island Raiders/Dusteroid) on Bass guitar. They played their first gig together at an all day punk festival in Brighton in September 2010. Since then the band have played many gigs, mostly in London including a support slot to the legendary Walter Lure of the Heartbreakers in November. Earlier in the summer of 2011 the band went on a short tour to France and are heading back there in April 2012. So it’s onward and upwards with the live shows getting better and better. On stage lead singer Nina Courson interacts with the other band members and entices her audience in the theatre that has become the trademark of their live shows.
